Keep salt at a pinch's length with this simple salt cellar. The size will not take up too much counter space but large enough for your fingers. A cook knows how much salt to use by how it feels in the hand. It also lends itself as an organizing box or catch-all. Gift it with some extra special jewelry inside as a keepsake box. The herringbone pattern is free hand carved away from the black stain using a traditional method called sgraffito. The lid and inside are glazed with a clear glossy glaze. The black portion is unglazed and matte.
